Why your B2B SaaS pricing page isn't converting (and how to fix it)
Most B2B SaaS pricing pages are conversion black holes. Founders spend weeks on the product, days on the homepage, hours on the pricing page, then wonder why the pricing page is where prospects drop off.

The problem usually isn’t the design. It’s that the page is trying to answer the wrong question.
The Wrong Question most Pricing Pages Answer
Most answer: “What do you charge?”
The visitor is actually asking: “Which plan is right for me, and can I justify it?”
Those are different questions. A page that only answers the first underperforms.
Fix 1: Add Plan Guidance Above the Tiers
Before your visitor sees the plans, tell them which plan is likely right. Add one sentence above the tier grid.
Weak: “Choose the plan that’s right for you.”
Strong: “Most teams under 20 people start with Pro. Most teams over 50 need Business.”
This one change cuts cognitive load in half. Visitors stop comparing 3 plans across 12 features and start evaluating the one plan that’s likely right.
Fix 2: Cut the Ffeature Checklist
Default B2B pricing pages have 15 features per tier with checkmarks. This pattern is a decade old and doesn’t convert like it used to. Visitors scan for the 2 or 3 features they care about. If those aren’t obvious, they leave.
Better: 4 to 6 feature rows, each describing an outcome, not a feature.
Weak: “Unlimited API calls, Custom domain, Priority support, Advanced analytics”
Strong: “Handle 10x more requests without upgrading, Ship on your own branded domain, Get help in 2 hours not 2 days, See where users drop off and why”
Outcomes convert better because they let visitors imagine using your product, not just owning it.
Fix 3: Move Trust Signals up
Most pricing pages put customer logos, testimonials, and security badges at the bottom. By the time visitors scroll there, 70% have decided.
Move at least one strong trust signal to the top, next to the tiers. A named customer quote, a security badge, or “trusted by X companies.” Trust needs to be present in the first 5 seconds.
Fix 4: Add “What’s Included in Every Plan”
If features exist across all plans (SSO, uptime SLA, basic support), don’t list them per-plan. Show them once above the tiers as “Every plan includes…”
Less visual noise per tier. Comparison focuses on what actually differs.
Fix 5: Replace Generic FAQs with Buyer FAQs
Most pricing page FAQs answer operational questions: payment methods, plan changes, data security. Better FAQs answer buyer justification questions:
- “How does your pricing compare to alternatives like X and Y?”
- “What if my team grows mid-year?”
- “How do I justify the Business plan to my CFO?”
- “What’s the ROI on Pro vs Free?”
Buyer questions convert. Operational questions inform but don’t convert.
Fix 6: Show your Work on Enterprise
If you offer flexible or custom quotes, don’t hide the range behind “Contact Sales.” Show a “starting at” number.
Buyers hate cost uncertainty. If they don’t know whether your enterprise plan is $500/month or $50K/month, they assume it’s more than they want to pay and never book the call.
“Enterprise plans start at $X per month based on scale” filters out non-fit buyers and gives fit buyers confidence to reach out.
Fix 7: Kill the Annual/Monthly Toggle if you can
The annual/monthly billing toggle is a conversion killer. Every time visitors toggle, they’re doing math instead of buying.
Better: show annual prices with a smaller monthly equivalent underneath. “$99/month billed annually” is easier to process than a toggle.
Or show annual and monthly side by side with annual highlighted as recommended. Fewer clicks, clearer preference.
Toggles increase decision fatigue. Reduce them where you can.
Fix 8: Make the CTA Specific
“Start Free Trial” and “Contact Sales” are the defaults. Both underperform.
Better CTAs are specific:
- “Book a 20-min demo with a founder”
- “Get a custom quote in 24 hours”
- “Start your free trial (no credit card required)”
Specificity reduces uncertainty. Uncertainty reduces conversion.
Fix 9: Add a “Not sure which plan?” Escape hatch
For visitors who can’t decide, offer a next step that isn’t “book a full demo.”
- A short interactive plan-picker quiz
- A “get a plan recommendation in 60 seconds” form
- A live chat that helps them decide
Goal: give indecisive visitors a way to keep engaging rather than leaving.
Fix 10: Show what you don’t Offer
Counterintuitively, listing what you don’t do can increase conversion. Signals confidence and helps visitors self-select.
“We’re not the right fit if…” lists build trust because they show you’re not desperate to sell to everyone. Non-fit visitors leave (good outcome). Fit visitors feel more confident that you understand your positioning.
The bigger picture
Pricing pages don’t underperform because of design. They underperform because they’re built to answer “what do you charge?” instead of “which plan is right for me and can I justify it?”
Every fix above addresses that reframe. Try them one at a time, measure conversion, and keep what works.
Most B2B SaaS pricing pages we audit convert 30 to 60% better within 6 weeks of applying these fixes. The design doesn’t get more beautiful. It gets more decisive.
